Gunther has worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand since 2010. During this period, he became more and more aware of the fact that a large number of children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or ADHD remain either undiagnosed, or have been given an incorrect diagnosis in the past, with often detrimental consequences for their development and well-being. Furthermore, he noted that many children, adolescents and adults with multiple neurodevelopmental difficulties were sent back and forth between different services as each service only appeared to assess a certain aspect of the difficulties, leading to these people not only having to undergo multiple assessments, but also to them often having to go on successive waiting lists. .
Therefore, it has become Gunther’s personal mission to provide high-quality psychological assessments which accurately and reliably identify ASD and ADHD, as well as other neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disorder, “Dyslexia”) in children, adolescents and adults, and this to guarantee that correct treatment and adequate support systems can be put in place in a timely manner to optimise his clients’ development and to maximise their quality of life.
